Wii VC Games decrypted, revealed as ROM files !

Interesting news in the Wii homebrew/hacking scene. It appears as if the Virtual Console games from the Wii Shop Channel have been decrypted and revealed as simple ROMs with HTML help files. Each game also comes with its own emulator included in the game WAD file. There is some concern within the scene that this might result in tighter security by Nintendo in terms of newer security patches and updates. It could result in a higher level of difficulty for those interested in customizing their Wii, however Nintendo has yet to release an official statement, so there is no telling what direction they could go with this.

Super Genitari 4in1 vintage gaming system has arrived !
Photobucket

It is 2008 and video game technology is expanding at a monstrous pace, however there are those of us that still need to get the same feeling we did back in 1993. But who really wants to have 4 different gaming consoles and the hassle of having to pull the TV out and fiddle with the A/V connectors every time you want to switch between them? Not I. Fortunately, the aptly named "Super Genintari" provides a quick and easy solution. This gigantic console combines the ATARI 2600, NES, Super Nintendo, and the Sega Genesis in one amazing unit. The backlit Pac-Man is the on/off switch, and the toggling buttons allow you to switch easily from one vintage gaming system to the other without the mess of rewiring every time. It has ports for all the various controllers easily accessible on its front, and is all wrapped up in an amusingly retro-esque console. What could be better for the enthusiastic vintage gamer than switching from ATARI's Frogger to  Super Nintendo's Mario Kart with the ease of pushing a single button? Sign me up! Please take this opportunity to check out the videos and pictures, and see for yourself how delightful this console is for the serious vintage gamer!

Super Castlevania IV (1991) Konami
Everyone who plays video games knows Castlevania.
The series is one of Konami's most famous & memorable. It has seen titles on almost every game system  & almost every Super Nintendo enthusiast has there personal favorite Castlevania game. For me it is definitely Super Castlevania IV. Everything about this game is highly addictive.  When I was younger this was one of the games that I really got into on Super Nintendo after it was released, and it is still one of my favorite all-time games today. The levels are immensly fun and creative. The music is also really cool !!

Wii Fit priced for Europe - and it ain’t cheap(er) than US, JP

After confirming earlier on this month that Wii Fit would be weighing into Europe on April 25, Nintendo has confirmed today that the software (bundled with the Wii Balance Board accessory) will cost £69.99 GBP in the United Kingdom and EUR €89.99 across the rest of Europe.

The Wii Balance Board, which arrives packaged with every copy of the game. It senses weight and shift in balance in any direction and therefore by standing on the Wii Balance Board during activities allows players to follow along to movements ensuring they have full control of the on-screen activities. This allows personal improvement goals to be set to effectively help you and your family to train and stay fit.

Wii Fit allows up to eight players to track the progress of their fitness over time via the Wii Fit Channel. Once the Wii Fit Channel is added it enables users to not have to insert the Wii Fit Disc into the console in order for the Wii Balance Board to scale your weight to calculate your BMI, measure the centre of your bodily balance, check how long you have been exercising for, and conduct a balance test in order to calculate your Wii Fit Age.

There are 4 training categories including Aerobic Exercises, Muscle Workouts, Yoga and Balance Games. There are over 40 activities in all including Hula Hoop, Press Ups, Ski Jump, Rowing Squat, and various popular yoga poses.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime recently claimed that Wii Fit would arrive in America priced at under $100 USD. At the current exchange rate, that means UK and Europeans will be paying the equivalent of around $139 USD and $136 USD respectively. Hardly seems like a fair deal, but after so many years of being charged higher prices for games and accessories, it should hardly come as a surprise.
