If you're like me, then chances are
you've felt a bit worried about the Wii Remote for things like Wii
Sports, where you swing it around like a tennis racket or golf club,
because it doesn't exactly feel like a racket or club. After all,
it's just a wee little remote. (no pun intended) Well, if you've felt
that way, then you no longer need to worry as Joytech has announced a
slew of accessories for the remote.
First off is the Wii Sports Pack,
which enhances the remote by making it feel more realistic to hold.
It comes with a racing grip, making it feel like a wheel, a golf
grip, to make it feel like you're holding a golf club, and a racket
grip, to make it feel like you're holding a tennis racket. They don't
exactly do anything to change the remote, aside from putting weight
on it in the appropriate places so it feels more realistic to hold.
The racing grip is also going to be available for sale separately.
Next we have the
Wii Controller Grip, which is simply a pair of extended grips
for holding the remote in the horizontal position. Ever since the
release of the PS1 back in 1995, gamers across the globe know the
virtues of having actual grips to hold on a controller, putting to
what we thought was the death of the 'flat' controller.
On the front of
things that we predict will actually prove useful is the Wii Power
Station, which is a dock that will store two remotes and two
Nunchuck controllers when not in use. It also comes with two
rechargable battery packs for the remote, which the cradle will
charge when the remotes are docked there. So, for those who don't
want to blow tons of money on AA batteries, this looks like an
economical solution.
Lastly is the Wii
Silicon Gloves, which are sleeves that you can put over the
remote to protect it. They come in a multitude of colors, and are
perfect for those of you who just can't stand to soil the controller
with your filthy hands.
Currently there is
no announcement on prices for any of these.
