According to UK magazine GamePro:
In the story an exile from the floating kingdom of Cocoon, who has been banished to the lower world, finds herself caught up in a plot to take the sky domain down.
It is assumed that the character they are referring to is Lightning. It was previously known that Lightning is regarded as dangerous by the people of Cocoon and possibly being exiled. The information about the plot against the floating city, however, is new.
It was mentioned that the release dates for both XIII and Versus XIII will be in early 2008, though there has been no official confirmation of this from Square. These things tend to move around a lot anyway.
