B.O.B. - Player Reviews & Feedback
Rating 4 Decent Game

B.O.B. is just your ordinary intergalatical teenage robot, who just wants to borrow his dad's car, so he can pick up his date it style. However B.OB. does not have the navigation skills of a R2-D2 unit and soon crashes his car on an asteroid full of guns and trampolines. I order to survive this hostile world, B.O.B. picks up an array of guns and gadgets throughout the game, including the fear inducing trampoline.

This is by far one of the best platformers on the SNES, with great bosses, and humor, and a varied amount of weaponry. It works like all other platformers by you going from left to right, and kills robots and bugs on the way. The real difference is the weapons and gadgets, so you can transform into a helicopter to get to hard-to-reach places.
Rating 5I Enjoyed It

Okay, I bought this game unboxed. But the story isn't too hard to pick up. One day (or perhaps night?) BOB, some sort of robot is cruising in his car through space only to crash into a large chunk of space rock, and crash lands on a strange unknown planet.

From there your gameplay begins. The levels are map-based, no backtracking, and you have to work your way to the end of each 'world' to advance to the next with a boss to fight at the end of each.

BOB is a surprisingly hard platform four-directional scrolling game. All of the SNES controller buttons are used to shoot, punch, jump or deploy your special item which ranges from a helicopter cap to an instant trampoline to an invulnerability bubble. There are also several types of ammo for your gun which include tracking missiles and lighting bolts (only 10 are allowed for the best ammo).

The controls work well too. What makes it tricky is the levels are quite large and the objective is to find the exit before the time runs out, before it begins to slowly drain your health away. In the further levels there's even some race-to-the-finish stages when BOB jumps into a small space-pod to speed through the obstacles- easier said than done and it takes a few goes.
