Battle Cars Description Battle Cars is a video game for the Super NES published by Namco in 1993. It is a futuristic racing game in which cars are equipped with missiles, grenade launchers, and sliding disks which are used to eliminate opponents.

The game can be played by either 1 or 2 players. In a 1-player game, the player progresses through a series of progressively harder levels. Two players can alternate as each progresses through the levels of the 1-player game, or they may go head-to-head in a number of race tracks.

Battle Cars - Player Reviews & Feedback
Not Bad

I'm not a very big racing fan. Now, I'm not saying I hate all racing and everything to do with racing, I just don't play a whole lot of racing games. In fact, if you look through my entire game collection, you'll notice maybe two racing games all together. One of them is Battle Cars, for SNES, which is was sadly overlooked and quite fun.

In Battle Cars, you race as an Earthling in an intergalactic racing tournament, racing against some of the most hardcore racing aliens ever imagined. This is not the traditional racing you would see on TV. Rather, this is racing with weapons. Okay, sorry for the emphasis, this has been done before, but this is still a pretty fun game.
Nothing Special

Nothing revolutionary or eye popping about the game, but the car models ARE quite nicely done. The colors are bright and vivid, as expected from a Super Nintendo game, yet there are also shadows somewhat on the tracks (which adds a nice touch).

The distance off of the tracks are fairly nice and not usually the same old repeating buildings, but rather are buildings spread out in a circle around the racing circuit. My only beef is with the area off of the tracks. They are very flat looking and (usually) just a solid repeating color.
