The look of Lagoon doesn’t look like an Illusion of Gaia or a Final Fantasy II. It would be less in the graphics department, but not so much so that you would have to pretend. For instance, the store when you walk up to it, you get a pop-up of the store owner; rather than going inside.
So, I could appreciate the leap from my GB rpgs; I had been playing games like Final Fantasy Legend III. If you like role-playing games, and you do not mind simpler graphics, the game has a lot to offer in game play. It isn’t as long as other Snes role-playing games I have played, but you are satisfied at the end, so for me it was long enough.
